Calling all local artists, performers and curious creatives, this is your invite to take the mic at The Nest!
Try It Out is an open, welcoming evening where artists of all disciplines can share up to five minutes of work-in-progress.

Whether it’s a brand-new poem, a stand-up idea, a song, a dance piece or something totally unexpected, this is your invitation to try it out.
Seasoned performer or first timer, this is a space for testing, sharing, and connecting in a relaxed, supportive environment.
Want to perform? Just turn up on the night and sign up on arrival. Tickets are £5 for the event and can be booked on the event page.

Under construction is an evening of scratch performances in The Nest, and we’re looking for bold, playful, thought-provoking work from emerging and established theatre-makers from Hampshire, West and East Sussex.
This is a space to test, explore and connect. Whether you’re a solo artist or a collective, we welcome submissions at any stage of development. The vibe is low-pressure, high-creativity, a chance to try things out in front of a supportive audience.
What we're looking for...
New and original short performances or extracts of longer pieces (up to 15 minutes) work-in-progress is welcome — rough edges encouraged! Pieces that can be staged in a small scale studio space.
Artists will be given up to an hour of tech time during the day and £100 to support there work on the day.
